Iconic NYC Movie Locations You Can Visit Today

New York City has been the backdrop for thousands of films. From romantic comedies to crime epics, these are the real locations you can walk to and stand exactly where movie history was made.

Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992)

The Plaza Hotel

Location: 768 5th Avenue at Central Park South. Kevin McCallister checked in here with his dads credit card. The lobby is open to the public — walk in and see the exact spot where he met the concierge (Tim Curry). The hotel still sells Home Alone 2 packages in December.

Rockefeller Center Ice Rink

Location: 30 Rockefeller Plaza. Kevin watches the skaters and meets the Pigeon Lady here. Visit November through April for skating ($20-40).

Central Park – Bow Bridge

Location: Mid-park at 74th Street. The scene where Kevin runs through the park. One of the most photographed bridges in NYC.

Duncan Toy Store (now FAO Schwarz)

Location: The original was on 5th Avenue. FAO Schwarz is now at 30 Rockefeller Plaza — same toy store energy.

Breakfast at Tiffanys (1961)

Tiffany and Co. Flagship

Location: 727 5th Avenue (at 57th Street). Holly Golightly ate her croissant looking in the window right here. The store is still there — walk up at sunrise for the authentic experience with no crowds.

Holly Golightlys Apartment

Location: 169 East 71st Street (Upper East Side). The brownstone exterior is a private residence but you can stand on the sidewalk and see the exact stoop.

Ghostbusters (1984)

Ghostbusters Firehouse

Location: Hook and Ladder 8, 14 North Moore Street, Tribeca. Still an active firehouse. The Ghostbusters logo is painted on the sidewalk outside. Great photo op.

Dana Barretts Apartment (Zuul Building)

Location: 55 Central Park West. The art deco building where Sigourney Weaver lived and the final battle happened on the roof. You can see it from Central Park.

When Harry Met Sally (1989)

Katzs Delicatessen

Location: 205 East Houston Street, Lower East Side. The famous fake orgasm scene. The table has a sign hanging above it: “Where Harry met Sally… hope you have what she had.” Get the pastrami sandwich ($28 but worth it).

Taxi Driver (1976)

Travis Bickles NYC

Location: The “You talkin to me?” scene was filmed at 881 Columbus Avenue. Much of the film was shot around Times Square and the West Side when it was still gritty. Walk West 42nd Street and imagine the 1970s version.

The Dark Knight Rises (2012)

Wall Street Battle

Location: Wall Street and Broad Street, Financial District. The stock exchange attack scene. Stand in front of the NYSE building for the exact angle.
